password incorrect
« on: December 24, 2016, 06:36:34 AM »
I have used teamviewer in the past without issue. This time, however I am using teamviewer app to connect to home PC. I installed teamviewer at home, on my windows 7 machine. When it finished, I took a pick of the user ID and password on the righthand side. So I downloaded the app software. I place in, the correct user ID. I then placed in, the correct password.  I get this message "the password you have entered is invalid, please try again".  So what am I doing wrong?

If you are using the password generated by teamviewer, it has expired.  That password only last a short time, the idea is that someone using the computer can tell it to someone trying to connect and help.

What you need to do is create an set a user(you) defined password.
at the PC open the teamviewer window by double clicking the teamviewer icon.
At the top left click extras/then choose Options, a windows should open, make sure the checkbox is marked that says "start Teamviewer with windows".

on the left choose Security, you should then see a spot in the right hand pane to enter a "User defined password"
enter any password you like, click ok.

Remember the password you choose, because teamviewer will not show it to you on any screen.

Click ok in the lower right.
Restart the computer and you should be able to connect with your device using the user ID and password yo just created.
