Hiding Current Session Window Upon Connect
« on: February 25, 2012, 03:59:50 AM »
I've been using teamviewer for sometime for personal use, as I run servers and run a small company for this purpose.

I have a query about what happens when you connect to a computer using teamviewer. Assumin you've setup unattended access, it seems as though everytime I connect to a machine I still have a window on the target machine popping up in the bottom right cornor displaying the current session and the connected host.

While it's only a slight annoyance for what I use the program for, I was wondering if there was an option to disable having this window popup upon each connection.

Thankyou in advance.

I don't understand how to do that and or how that will help my problem.

In computers and contacts select the computer

right click and select properties
show advanced properties if they aren't shown

Bottom right is a drop down list 'Remote input' >> Select 'Disable remote input and show black screen'

The 'toolbar window' on the bottom right of screen is for someone at the remote end to message you and it shows all of the connections to that computer (yes you can have multiple people connected at once via team viewer). With the user disabled and the screen blacked out the 'toolbar window' should minimise automatically. It did for me.

I also have a problem with this tab, particularly in that it obscures scrollbars on the right hand side of the screen. It has been a constant source of irritation for me. I constantly find myself having to move it, which can't even be done unless you open the tab first. I have also tried to move it mainly off screen (without minimizing it) to make the tab encroach less on the right hand scrollbar, but it then pops back into the main viewing area randomly. I understand the value of the bar for communication but I mainly use TeamViewer for unattended access where there is no one at the remote computer, so this tab (session list) is totally unnecessary and only a constant annoyance.

To be honest, if I am connection to a server to actually do some work, I'd prefer to use RDP.
Teamviewer for me is too slow to be of use when I have work to do.
Teamviewer is handy for other things where you need to be 'on the console' rather than an RDP session.

The little bits I use TV for, the current session tab is useful in that it shows who else is connected to that TV instance, and allows for chat etc from the remote machine.
