TV8, always defaults to sound on, and auto locks on disconnect
« on: December 10, 2012, 12:56:54 PM »
I use teamviewer to my personal computer during the day so it boots me after 3 hours multiple times per day.
Every time since I changed to teamviewer 8 I now have to remember to disable sound on that connection only, and have to unlock my pc at home.

There is no security risk to my pc at home being unlocked, and I DON'T want to pass sound on my connection... ever.

How can I make these changes to be my default? any ideas?

Well on the host PC, you can set a default to never play computer sounds and music (Options > Remote Control > "Play computer sounds and music").  But for the remote or (local if your thinking that way), there is no option available to not lock the PC.  Maybe a registry setting, that someone from teamviewer could provide?

Yes, I also would like to have the option to always NOT lock the remote PC after the session, without having to click on the option in the menu everytime.
By the way, I don't always have to do this. It is not clear to me when this option is automatically turned on or not.
I am a very happy user of Teamviewer, by the way.

You can disable it during the connection in the tool bar under "Actions" ==> "Lock Computer" ==>deactivate the "Lock on session end" option.

Doing that manually at the end of every session is exactly what we are trying to avoid.

Do you have any reason to think that reinstallation would solve the problem.  I use Teamviewer on several computers and have the same problem on all of them -- TV locks on session end, randomly.

perhaps doing a clean uninstall with a program like revo uninstaller( free version) to get rid of any trace of the old version:
REVO and then reinstalling Teamviewer

If you connect to a computer that's locked or not logged in at all it will default to lock on disconnect.  As long as you remember that fact you can remember to turn it off before you disconnect.  You can also get in the habit of disconnecting by using the X on the toolbar (instead of the X on the window) as the toolbar icon will show a little lock on the X indicating it will lock when you click it and prompting you to turn it off before doing so.

No, the lock on session end activates itself randomly, regardless of the state of the computer when it connects.

Something that i discovered on lock on  disconnect that i posted in another thread, but may apply here:

Interesting observation about the lock on disconnect:
Today after logging into a friends account an checking a couple things, i UNchecked, "lock on disconnect"
I then rebooted (remotely) the machine and found, that Lock on disconnected was once again, checked.
As it happens, her windows account is a standard user account and i need to switch to an administrator account to complete a task.
After i logged into the administrator account, i looked and "lock on disconnect was CHECKED" so i unchecked it, rebooted and logged into the standard user account..
lock on disconnect was still unchecked and it seems to be staying that way.

I wonder or it seems if it is necessary to UNcheck "lock on disconnect" while in an administrator account in order for it to "stick"
