Remote Printing Strangeness
« on: February 06, 2013, 02:08:35 PM »
I have a weird issue with remote printing.  I have 3 printers and I can print to 2 of the 3 printers.  The new printer I got will not allow me to print to it via remote printing but prints fine otherwise.  It shows up on the remote end with the printer name and the print via teamviewer but it never prints.  The printer will not print via USB or wired network via Teamviewer with just this one printer.  It is an HP M1212nf.  I actually returned it and got another one and no luck there.  Here are other things I tried.

Installed:
CD version of drivers
FULL drivers from HP
Updated Driver from HP
Universal Print Driver from HP
Updated printer firmware

I thought it might be a networking issue, so I've now tried it with 3 different networks and still no luck printing to it but it will still allow printing to other printers on those 3 networks.  HP is no help since the printer works normally and said it was an issue with Teamviewer.

I also tried this printer on 3 different operating systems and could not get it to work with Windows 8, 7 or Vista.  Probably spent about 6 hours on this.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

off the cuff, if i had this issue: i would transfer a copy of the document you want to print to the remote system( drag and drop or file transfer), open it there and print it "locally", then delete that copy you transferred if you don't want it hanging around on the remote system.
Obviously this wont work for all printing need types, perhaps check with HP support about remote printing.
