Remote Printing Issue
« on: March 02, 2013, 04:48:06 PM »
I use Teamviewer 8 to connect to both of my two computers (Windows 7 Pro) at home (never both at the same time). With only one of the two computers, the Remote Printing feature will no longer turn on although it previously worked without issue. I can click on "Remote Printing" but a check mark no longer appears to the left of it and my local printer does not become available.

I verified the Remote Printing driver is installed. Using Options-Advanced I even uninstalled the Remote Printing driver and then reinstalled it; to no avail.

I used Google to search for others with a similar problem on a remote computer but was unable to find anything useful.

Remote Printing is a very useful feature and it would be very helpful to resolve this problem. Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

you may try submitting a support ticket:

Then report back after you hear a response.

ERS, Thanks for the suggestion. I use the free version so support is not available.

For anyone interested, I did find a solution.

Under Advanced Options I turned UDP off on the remote machine. It was then necessary to reboot the remote machine. Remote printing now again works reliably and I am unable to see any adverse effect from having UDP off.

Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.

just wondering, do you use a TCP/IP printer at your end?
Or at the remote end?
