I regularly use Teamviewer between my temporary location at a long term work assignment and my home, 1400 miles away. The internet connections at both home and my remote location are the fastest available with advertised upload speeds between 3 to 5 Mbs. DSLReports speed test verify that my actual upload (and download) speeds are at least in the ballpark of what they are advertised to be. All other downloads etc. occur at expected speeds.
So, why then are my maximum transfer speeds only around 120 Kbs? Sometimes they may hit 250 Kbs but this is rare. I searched for others with this same issue and it appears this is the norm. Once a day I transfer two 8 Mb files so, overall, this does not cause a consequential problem but it is nevertheless frustrating since I went to effort and expense to assure I have fast connections both at my permanent and temporary homes.
Does this imply Teamviewer imposes a speed cap? If so, I am certainly not going to complain because I use the free version and am thrilled to have this outstanding piece of software available. I would just like to know the reason for these consistently low transfer speeds.
