Switching between applications - Apple Tab

This has become such a part of my OSX experience I am a bit lost without it!  While screensharing with ichat or back to my mac - this functionality works as expected and you can cycle between open apps on the remote mac.  However, in team viewer, hitting apple tab only cycles through the open apps on the host mac - not the remote one.

any ideas?
