Teamviewer 9.0.32949 VOIP
« on: September 22, 2014, 02:01:33 PM »
Hi everyone, been using Teamviewer for a while and it's brilliant.

I found one issue with, I think, the latest update regarding VOIP. It has previously worked for me flawessly but now I cannot seem to get any sound through at all.

Here is the scenario:
Server downstairs running Windows 8.1 with microphone. I can see from the teamviewer settings that it is picking up sound. If I play video/audio I can see the green bar move up and down under the 'microphone level' section under Teamviewer settings.

The receiving PC upstairs running windows 7 also works sound wise. Speakers work, and the default audio device is correctly set up under 'Options for voice playback'. The small 'play' icon plays a sound I can hear through my speakers on the PC.

When I have a session open and click on the little headset and select Voice over IP nothing happens, I don't get a signal through.

I hope this was detailed enough to get a picture. I've tried re-installing both and checking over all the settings dozens of times but I cannot find a fault anywhere.

Thanks in advance

Veda

Hi,

I have the same problem now.

I have  computers in another country to listean radio and there is no other person to activate the audio there. I wnat to make a remote activation of the VOIP and it seems to be impossible now.

How can I solve this issue.

Thanks

Same problem -- cannot VOIP with latest version.  Was hoping there were some answers as hubby is traveling to Canada today for three months, and I need to communicate.

I would suggest you post this issue to the Teamviewer facebook page, they seem to react better there sometime.  Remember..the admin here is no a tech support person for Teamviewer just someone who runs the board.

Thank you very much for the responses. I will try a previous version tomorrow.

I realise this isn't an official forum but I figured its more likely that I was doing something wrong since the VoIP interface changed than there being a bug of some kind. I will get in touch over Facebook.

For security reasons, each side of the connection need to activate his own microphone. This is not possible to activate the remote computer's microphone.

If we may of further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

probably because "you" could record a conversation without the other party knowing about it, which is illegal in many jurisdictions, though not in some they have to accommodate the ones where it is illegal.  THAT said, i would think that by installing teamviewer a user is by default, accepting the capabilities of the software, there for making them aware that they COULD be recorded.

I had the same problem, and I got a similar response when I contacted them. I thought the greyed out microphone and loudspeaker icons on the remote controlled computer was a bug, but, unfortunately, it seems to be a "feature" of the latest version.

Perhaps going back to the last known version, where you could click on the remote microphone icon, can solve the problem? I haven't tried myself yet, though. (TeamViewer 9.0.31064)

P.S.
To the OP: Please note, the version is not 9.0.32949, but 9.0.32494.

I have tried this now; going back to an older version. And indeed, problem is solved. I can now click on the remote computer's microphone icon. The version I installed was TeamViewer 9.0.31064 (Google is your friend).

Do not forget to go to Options -> Advanced -> Show advanced options -> Check for new version -> Never
and then, Install new versions automatically -> No automatic updates

Yes, I have seen that page. However, if I want to have v.9 I will have to search elsewhere, since it says "TeamViewer 8.x, 7.x, 6.x, 5.x, 4.x, 3.x, 2.x and 1.x".
