Question re: remoting in and webcam
« on: October 27, 2014, 05:27:36 PM »
Hi,
I'm relatively new to TV, but am enjoying it so far...
Here is my question.  When I remote into my home computer (from my laptop) and select video so I can see the webcam's view, I just get a grey box. It is waiting for someone at my home computer to hit "share video"... and since in a real world situation I wouldn't be sitting there that's no good.
I'm guessing it's a security feature, but I'd like to disable that if possible.
Anyone have any ideas on this one?
Thanks very much.

Teamviewer doesn't allow that

I TV to my home home computer and start the webcam software (in my case Logitech) and that shows the image.
I also 'show black screen' at home so that if anyone is there, they can't see what I can see on screen.

There are a myriad of other remote view webcam applications out there
