Trouble trying to add another computer
« on: April 01, 2015, 11:24:33 PM »
I have recently bought a new laptop and am trying to get it fully recognised by the other group computers within TeamViewer.

On the new computer I entered the IDs and passwords for each of the existing computers but this didn't result in their names being added to the Computers & Contacts box on the new PC, as I am fairly sure occurred on the other network computers. I added a fourth PC less than a year ago and had no difficulty doing so.

Just what is going on with the new PC is mystery. How do I get the existing PCs listed on TeamViewer on it?

To top it off, TeamViewer wanted me to log on this morning. The C and C box showed my email address but didn't accept any password I threw at it.

Is there a procedure outlined anywhere as to how one adds a new computer to an existing TeamViewer setup?

All fixed. The issue was that my password wasn't being recognised. I can't recall ever changing it but I went ahead and reset it anyway. The 5th PC meekly joined the party and all is well.

I spoke too soon. I now have another computer not cooperating.

One of my computers that has been linked for a long time has just come up with a request for me to sign in. This happens, or at least happens for me, from time to time on all my linked computers. My email address is displayed and my password is invited. This time on this computer my password is not being recognized and nothing happens. The Computer & Contacts panel is in fact dead and doesn't acknowledge my input at all.

How do I wake the panel up and get this computer back on the TeamViewer network?

I am not keen to uninstall and reinstall TeamViewer on this computer as removing all of TeamViewer before reinstalling it is a problem. But perhaps this is what I need to do.

I decided to reinstall TV 10 and the problem resolved itself, as it did with the new PC I added to my network.

There seems to be some gremlins in the latest version. Hopefully things will settle down now.

I don't use version 10, I use an earlier version

I just install TV on a new computer, without adding it to an account, just plain install

If I need to see other computers from it, then I login to the 'Computers and Contacts', and my list appears without entering any details of any other computers
