Windows 10 - TV v10.0.45862 - Does Not Start At Windows Logon
« on: August 12, 2015, 08:29:43 AM »
OS: Win10 x64 Home, Pro, Enterprise
Issue: TV does not start at the Windows login prompt.

I have now tested this on 3 different computers all running Win10; Home, Pro, and Enterprise. Each device has an Administrator account as it's primary account and each device's account is also setup to have a PIN enabled at the login window. I have tested the issue by also removing the PIN and going with the standard login password but have the same results. PIN enabled or disabled and still no connection to my TV account while the computer is sitting at the login window.

After entering the accounts Password or PIN TV will then launch as expected and connect to my TV account. While this does provide remote capabilities it's also requiring a physical person to enter the Password or PIN while at the computer to log into Windows thus removing my essential need to truly remote a computer without physically being there.

Troubleshooting Done:
* Attempted several different installs of TV from previous versions.
* Ensured the options to run at Windows start is enabled.
* Ensured the computer is associated with my TV account and the software also displays that it is in the options.
* Checked Firewall settings to ensure there were no blocks or otherwise.
* Checked TV Service to make sure it was set to Automatic and that it was in fact running.
* Tested other remote viewer applications like TightVNC and found that they perform as expected and start with Windows at the login prompt while TV does not.
* Reinstalled Windows and then TV with no other apps installed.
* Used different Internet connections; WiFi, MiFi, LAN, Tethered.
* I do not have TV set to automatically log into my TV account as this could be a potential security issue. I've always had the program setup this way in Win7, 8, and 8.1 on my devices.

So I hope this provided some essential information and would hope that others have some helpful comments. Thank you.

I'm still using TV ver 8 (cause that's what I have a licence for)

I use the unattended host installer, and that is working fine on the Windows 10 machines that I know have been updated

Try the unattended host version
