VPN issues

Using Teamviewer 10 version 10.0.45862 on both machines.   Both machines run Windows 10 Professional.  We use the VPN to access files on our file server.

We have no issue using remote control to access the desktop of the server, but when we go to the VPN and test the ping, the request times out.  Note that we always disable the public firewall on the server (host machine), and before this is all that was required to access the files on the host.  Now we can't access the files via VPN, and not sure why this is.   No settings have been changed on the host machine.
