Was this UAC causing an issue?
« on: December 29, 2015, 03:14:32 PM »
I was helping my mom remotely last night install something, so I had her install the free version of Teamviewer so I can remote in and assist you (better than driving to her house!)

The issue I kept running into, is that anytime I did something that required administrator access, it locked me out so she can authorize it (which is fine and I have no problem with), but the problem is that after she click OK or whatever, I still couldn't click anything for the rest of the installation of that app.

I could see everything, could move my mouse around, but couldn't click on any dialogue boxes/buttons until the install process was completely finished.

Is this due to UAC?  As I said I understand her having to initially OK the administrator prompt when running the app installer, but after that point shouldn't I be able to resume normal remote control?

I don't want to disable UAC because, well, it's mom's computer.

Thanks

I access and manage several family member machines, you ( I) need to know their administrator and standard user account passwords( for windows) but i can do anything i need to do without any outside help on the remote side.
on HER machine, from the teamviewer main window.
go to
Extras
Options
Security
look at the lower part of the panel and look for "Rules for Connections to this Computer"
Windows Logon : should say "allowed for all users", if not, change it from the drop down and click ok

and make sure you know her windows passwords if you want full control, otherwise she is going to have to be there to enter it each time it is asked.
