Authentication Rejected TV 11

Since upgrading to v11, I have been dealing with the issue.

Running Windows 7-64 Home Premium using TV to access home desktop from laptop and vice versa, including sending files back and forth. When doing so in different parts of the house with devices on same network, it has not been a problem. On the road, however, trying to access the desktop from the laptop results in the above error.

I don’t remember having said issue with older versions and looking around on the Web leads me to believe it is a broader problem. TeamView doesn’t seem to want to respond to requests for help.

Suggestions?

Not set to LAN exclusively. But, interestingly, a friend who has a key went in and rebooted the computer. At this point, all seems normal. In this case, I was lucky that he was able to help. The real question is what does one do without that kind of help?

VNC variants can be set up on custom ports and with encrypted connections
UltraVNC is my preferred variant, but it matters little. I find  bit slow, and patience testing at times.

RDP connections is I prefer to use often.
When set up you can easily RDP from another computer in the same LAN, from the My computer >> Network list. Just right click and select 'connect with remote desktop connection'
I have been known to TV to a machine in a network and then RDP to another, or even RDP to the server, then (sub) RDP to the remaining workstations. RDP is great if you want to print stuff, but lousy for sharing microphone or video (sound from the rdp works well)

Both of these above work with unattended computers

There is some other suggestions from the main page of this forum (scroll to the bottom of the page) although not many offer Unattended Access

HTH

btw, not my forum. I just hang out here occasionally...
