After successfully using TV for some month I updated once again TV a couple of days ago.

Then suddenly a never seen popup appears offering me:
"Your connection speed can be increased by using Teamviewer DirectIn techn, which will help to establish direct connections to your partner and includes UPnP router configuration.
Do you want to activate TV DirectIn mode (recommended)?"

Hmm, from what I understood in the past TV ALWAYS establishes a direct connection client<--->server (after initial brokering a connection through 3rd party external TV server).

So why am I prompted to activate this feature? How else can this software work?
What happens if I deny this activation?

After I clicked "yes" in the prompt popup I was informed that Port 5938 could not be forwarded to my computer (I am sitting behind a router). Does that mean that I have to setup a corresponding NET port forwarding rule in my router?

Why wasn't this question answered?
I just started getting this popup and was trying to find out why.

I would also like to know what this DirectIn is as well.

my guess

normal connections
local computer <<>>   TV server <<>> remote computer

DirectIn connections
local computer <<>> remote computer

That sounds good but will it let me connect to a computer that is behind a VPN firewall?
If what you say is correct, then it should work.

As it is now, whenever I am connected via VPN, i cannot see any other computer on the TV network and it shows my ID as - or blank.
