Can't install TV
« on: June 24, 2011, 06:34:31 AM »
I had TV installed and working fine on my XP system with Avast & MalwareBytes installed on my AT&T router/Uverse. I performed a reformat and am re-installing everything and when I attempted to install TV I am getting the error "An error occured during the installation of TeamViewer. Probably some security software blocks network communication on this computer. Please permit network communications on this computer to use TeamViewer." at the end of the install progress.

I have completely shut down Avast and Windows firewall is OFF. Could the router be blocking the install? I have the option in AT&T router settings for user defined settings to enable a program to pass thru the firewall. Right now it is set to "Maximum protection - Disallow unsolicited inbound traffic", but I never changed this on my install before reformatting? The Dell install disk for my OS did install McAfee which I had to uninstall so maybe remnants of that are causing an issue? I did use CCleaner to try to eliminate the possibility due to issues I was having with Avast Web Shield blocking my browser connection. I have Web Shield disabled to be able to get on the internet at this time. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

try to uninstall Teamviewer with REVO uninstaller free version ( http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html) using the advanced choice that removes all traces of a program, restart the system then reinstall TV.
What version of TV were you using before that was allowed by your router, if it is different form the current version it may be seeing or detecting something that was not present in the older version...im not sure, but you may need to "allow" this TV version

Hi,
Could you please send us (support@teamviewer.com) the TeamViewer-logfile as a ZIP-FILE to analyse the problem?
You will find the logfile under:
C:\Programs\TeamViewer\Version6 or
C:\Documents and Settings\User\ApplicationData\TeamViewer or
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\TeamViewer.
The name of the files is 'TeamViewer6_Logfile.log', if available please also send us the 'TeamViewer6_Logfile_OLD.log.

Although you have not finish the installation there should already be logfiles of TeamViewer.

Regards
Inga, TeamViewer Germany

There are no files with "Logfile" or ".log" in their file names. Is there a way I can upload a screenshot here?

Hello,
can you send us an email to support@teamviewer.com including the screenshot.
This is not an official TeamViewer forum and it is easier for our support-team to look at your problem and get back to you via email.
