The remote computer is a Dell Latitude C620 laptop running Windows 2000 sp4, with TeamViewer 6.0.10722.
TeamView works perfectly well on the remote computer except that I want to black out the screen. Trying to install the monitor driver for that purpose brings up a message that the installation failed and asks if I want to use "the fallback alternative". Clicking yes to that merely results in another message that that installation failed.
Questions:
1. Any ideas why the monitor driver installation should be failing?
2. What is the "fallback alternative"?
3. How do I know if the fallback alternative has taken effect?
In the alternative, I suppose I could set Windows ACPI to switch off the monitor after, say, 5 minutes of non-use. Would disabling remote input then have the effect of making it impossible to 'wake' the computer locally via the keyboard hence maintaining a black screen that way?
Thanks
