Because the ID changes alone?
« on: May 21, 2012, 10:20:14 PM »
Hello everyone,
I use TeamViewer to connect from your office to your home machine.
I then set a fixed password.
It works fine but I can not understand why TeamViewer occasionally change the ID by itself for no apparent reason.  :'(
You can also make a fixed ID, over to the password?

Thanks in advance

Hello.

This happens on one of my machines too for some reason. Using version 8.0.17396.

Your post was a year old so I just wanted to know if you found a fix for this?

That is very odd, i understand that the ID is hardware based, so it does and should stay the same, unless perhaps you have changed something in the hardware

If I connect to a terminal server via a user's RDP connection I get a different ID number than if I connect to the 'console' of the same machine. The 'Other ID' is consistent across multiple users.

I have some machines therefore that have two ID numbers, but these two numbers are persistent.

I did a recovery on my laptop, which reinstalled windows. Then I downloaded teamviewer 8 again, reinstalled it... started it up and logged in with my same email and password I used before. But now my teamviewer got a different ID number. Why is this? Same laptop, same email and password... but yet a new ID number. How can I get my old ID number back.. anyone please?
