Blank Screen or only part of screen shown upon connection

I am trying to connect up to my friends PC to help him setup email and I am having problems with Teamviewer not showing the remote screen.

It has been working in the past and I can connect up to other friends PC's ok, so it must be a problem with this one particular friends PC?

His PC is a Sony Vaio running Microsoft Windows 7 home premium sp1. It has a Intel core i5 processor with 6GB of memeory.

We are now both using Teamviewer version 8 (him the client support module and me the full version).

When I connect I eitehr just get a blank / black screen  or a only get part of the remote co,puters screen shown (like every other lie is missing). It does not seem to respnd to my mouse comands but he says he can see me moving the mouse on his side.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

try having h im install the full version of Teamviewer.
ID will stay the same.
