Teamviewer on two accounts
« on: June 26, 2013, 08:34:37 AM »
I want to be able to access two separate accounts remotely over TeamViewer. I usually don't have any trouble doing so, but I somehow ended up on my target computer (both computers are 10.6) with TeamViewer launched in one account and not in the other. When I tried to open it in the second account (sitting in front of the target computer), it refused to open. With TeamViewer active in the first account, I can remotely connect to that account, and then remotely switch users to the second account, but I just get an inactive desktop on that second account. Completely hung. I have to close the connection entirely and reconnect. Now, when this happened, with TeamViewer active in one account but not the other, the only solution was to reboot the target computer, and relaunch TeamViewer in that first account. Thereupon, it was automatically active in the second account.

Is it possible to shut down TeamViewer in one account, leaving it active in the other account, whereupon it won't let you relaunch it in that first account? That is, TeamViewer won't launch if, somewhere else in the system, on another account, it's already open? That's what it looks like to me.

you are going to need to explain this more clearly.
Two separate account on the same remote system?
Two separate accounts each on a separate remote system?
or are you trying to access two separate USERS accounts on a single remote system?

Sorry. I was on travel and wasn't able to respond.

Yes, two user accounts on the remote computer. As in "Joe" and "Natalie".

It appears that when I connect, via TeamViewer, to the remote machine, which is logged on on "Joe"'s account, when I "switch users" on that machine to "Natalie"'s account, TeamViewer can hang,  wherein I have to reconnect. When I do, I'm sitting pretty in Natalie's account. So I can switch users over TeamViewer, but TeamViewer sometimes won't keep the connection when I do.

In fact, I'm seeing that sometimes when I do it, TeamViewer just gives me a quick error/complaint, and then automatically reconnects. But other times, it just hangs.

First suggestion is to uninstall and reinstall teamviewer with he latest version on both systems and start form there.
See if the error continues
