Connection intermittently freezes
« on: July 19, 2013, 01:08:25 PM »
I am connecting to a local Windows 7 computer using another Windows 7 computer. It connects and works without issue except for one thing. About once a minute the connection freezes for about 10-15 seconds. Then it starts to work again.

Any suggestions on how to diagnose and resolve this?

Try allowing the remote computer to change the video settings as it likes to try and do. (Turn off Aero)

Also, perhaps try disabling AV on one or both computers

Seriously, would it have been so hard to explain how to change the video settings to allow the remote computer to do "as it likes"? There's no option called than and I have no idea where to look. Same with disabling AV. What's that? Where is there such a setting?

Seriously, this is a user run forum, with volunteers who answer questions.
Seriously, being rude to people who answer questions for free is really bad form. (and it wasn't even your question initially...)

When I say let the video settings 'do as it likes', I mean don't go playing with any settings, just leave defaults (including let Aero be disabled).

When I talk about AV, I am using very standard internet terminology for Anti-Virus. When I say disable AV at one end or the other, I mean try turning your anti-virus software off at one end or the other to see if that makes a difference or not.

Really, honestly, I have no idea. I am just a normal user who hangs out and offers suggestions, as a volunteer.

You can try the official support links if you like, but the reason that this forum was started I'd guess, is that there is a perception that official support doesn't always answer in a timely manner...

Please be nice.
