Is TV8 a dead product?
« on: August 06, 2013, 02:05:03 PM »
I was on TV6 on fedora 14 (server) and TV6 on Windows 7 x64 on the client side. Was working fine but due to the update nags, I updated both to TV8. Oh dear. Now I get "Connecting..." but it never connects. On Tv6 is always worked fine.

A quick search and here are a few random results of people with the same issue:

What is surprising is that they go back to December last year and there has been no fix since then (except to downgrade to version 6 or 7). Are Teamviewer as a company in the process of slowly letting Linux support fade and die? It's hard to think of why a fundamental problem like this (TV8 + Linux server = broken) can go unresolved for such a long time. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining, just thinking about whether I should be moving to an alternative solution if Teamviewer are planning to drop Linux support?
