Denied access to windows control panel and mycomputer
« on: October 03, 2013, 09:54:40 AM »

Originally my windows 7 user profile failed to load at login. I created a new profile, migrated old profile info. All worked and could access everything. Opened Teamviewer and suddenly can't access the windows control panel or mycomputer, but everything else still worked including Teamviewer. I repeated new profile process many times with same result. Without reinstalling teamviewer, are there any other suggestions? How could teamviewer change things that would deny access to the windows control panel and mycomputer?

TeamViewer seems to use Windows permissions for many things

My guess is that TeamViewer sees the migrated profile as a non-administrative user's profile. (same as for other users on same machine)
I'd also guess that you need to re-install Teamviwer under the new profile. This typically wouldn't require a restart, and should take about a minute.

Thanks Matt for the suggestions. It's my wife's teamviewer and I'm cautious about upsetting things further (as I always get blamed) but I think your right. When she comes back from a trip next week I'll reinstall teamviewer. Is it easy to setup ?
