Echo when using with Skype

Hi there,

When controlling a Windows 8 64-bit machine from a Windows 7 64-bit one, both running TeamViewer 9.0.24322 (Install only), and at the same time running Skype between the 2 computers, I on the Windows 7 machine hear an echo of everything that I say. This has also been my experience with an earlier version of TeamViewer several months ago and has been a barrier to adopting the software. The problem does not occur given exactly the same circumstances but using Crossloop.

Can anyone replicate this problem (not necessarily on machines running the same operating systems), or simulate the above conditions and not replicate the problem?

Teamviewer has it's own chat
perhaps both that and skype are being used

Thanks Matt. Nice idea. Certainly, Teamviewer chat hasn't been switched on intentionally for the connection. In fact, how do you use the chat function in TeamViewer - I can't find it on the interface.

It may be the chat it also may be teamviewer sending the audio : 

Disable audio on the remote computer from Teamviewer via. the Audio/Video settings at the top of the remote teamviewer icon to "disable remote sounds".

I don't see that option to disable audio under the Audio/Video tab at the top of the remote window. Where do I look for that again?

ok, try this, on the remote machine:
after clicking the teamviewer icon, in the windows that appears:
    click on Extras > Options

    Go to the Meeting section.
    In the right pane, check "Share computer sounds and sharing".

I see a "Share computer sounds and music" box. It is unchecked. If I want to get rid of echoes, why would I want to share sounds on TeamViewer while I'm using Skype? I want sounds to be shared through Skype, not through TeamViewer. I'm assuming that the funny echoes I'm getting are because both are active.

Now, I've never used the "Meeting", "Audio conferencing" or "Video" options. Do they even work with the unregistered TV?

Problem solved, for me anyway. I simply unchecked Audio/Video->Computer Sounds. The echo is no longer.

I think that's going to cure my problem too. But that Computer Sounds checkbox is checked every time I connect. Is there some way to make it stay unchecked?? I'd rather not have to uncheck it every time I connect.
