High CPU usage in teamviewer service task
« on: December 07, 2013, 06:27:16 AM »
This has started happening on our Windows XP SP3 machine.  After some time the PC will become sluggish, particularly any browser stuff, and investigation with Task Manager shows Teamviewer_Service.exe using 100% of the CPU.  Killing the task, or exiting TV via right-clicking the tray icon and restarting it, cures the problem until it returns, sometimes not for a few days.  Next time it occurs I'll grab screen shots of task manager in both states and post them.

I'm not certain, but it might be associated with the PC running for long periods with an internet connection that is not connected.

its good practice to restart any PC on a regular basis, often when i leave a remote session i do a remote reboot of the remote machine( with it set to "start teamviewer with windows).

Hi,

Are you saying this (CPU 100% problem) is observed, expected, unexplained, etc?  I'm wanting to know if it's something that just happens (and there is nothing I can do about it), or there is something about my setup that is causing it.

No application in the idle state should consume 100% of the CPU resource.

Many thanks,
R

I have the same problem.  Even without using TeamViewer, I found TeamViewer_service.exe hogging 50% of my CPU and slowing my machine down.  How can I stop this?
