Automatic updates do not install correctly
« on: March 03, 2014, 08:08:30 PM »
I have TeamViewer 9 installed, and when minor revisions and changes come out, many of the client machines I support are NOT updating correctly.  I believe the update runs, but TeamViewer does not restart itself after the update.  A reboot is required.  All of my TeamViewer clients are set to start automatically with Windows, but frequently after one of these automatic updates the TV service does not start automatically anymore.

Sometimes an uninstall, reboot, reinstall is required to get things working again.  Sometimes I have to have someone start the TV client and then go into Extras -> Options and uncheck and recheck the Start TeamViewer with Windows checkbox.  This is a minor annoyance when you're dealing with less computer savvy folks, and walking them through the steps of fixing the problem can be a chore.

I posted in a separate thread (http://teamviewerforums.com/index.php?topic=1582.0) where I thought this might be due to Ninite upgrades, but I think I've eliminated that as an issue.  Without Ninite in the picture, the automatic updates appear to be causing the problem.

Does anyone know if the automatic updates that are built into TV are supposed to gracefully shutdown, delete, recreate and restart the background TV service?
