tsclient not accessible
« on: April 23, 2015, 05:58:37 AM »
Hello,

I have TV running on a friend's machine, and can access it from mine. I want to upload some files, but if I click on the tsclient node in the Network, I get a message saying that \\tsclient is not accessible.

My guess is that I need to set permissions on my computer, but I want to make sure I'm not opening i up to anyone else. I to be able to see my computer when I'm running TV, but that's it.

Anyone able to advise how I do this? Thanks

matt

Do you understand what the TSclient actually is?

This is from a terminal server connection, and it is likely that whoever admins the terminal service connections doesn't allow access to client drives.
Pick a different local folder.

If you are the Terminal Server (or Remote Desktop) admin, make sure that you have explicitly allowed the connection of client drives (Depending on version of host windows machine and version of RDP client and client OS, this may default to on or off)

To be honest, no. I'm not an expert in this stuff, I'm just trying to help someone out.

Hmm, not sure what you mean. I want to be able to transfer files from my computer to his, and was under the (probably incorrect) impression that tsclient was my local machine.

If that's wrong, please can you explain how I can transfer files to his machine.

OK, so you lost me!

As far as I know, I'm not using RDC at all, I'm accessing his computer with TeamViewer. Not sure what RDC has to do with it.

He's running Windows Web Server 2008 R2, I'm running Windows 7 Pro. Don't know if that helps.

Thanks for the reply. If you could clarify further I would really appreciate it.

OK, so I'm dumb! I did a quick web search, and discovered that TV has a file transfer facility on the toolbar. This will do the job just fine.

Thanks anyway for the replies.

I'm sorry.

I had assumed that you were already using that, and still getting issues with the TSClient part.
