What does the yellow bar on the TV icon in the panel mean?

I have noticed that after a certain amount of time, the little green bar on the TV icon in the panel changes from green to yellow.  If I move the mouse pointer over the icon, it instantly changes back to green.

As far as I can tell nothing is wrong and TV works as expected, and I can't find any information describing why it's changing color.

Does anyone know what causes it to turn yellow?
