command line use - not installaion
« on: August 05, 2015, 08:42:05 AM »
I am trying to get some friends interested in Linux. We have TV installed and running beautifully.

Sometimes their desktops crash, but the computer is still otherwise fully functional. I can't help them like normal by taking control of their desktop.

Question;
Is there a way for me to use TV to remotely access the command line that they have switched to - they switch from the crashed desktop to a working command line by using ctrl alt F3 - no mouse.

I don't need a mouse either at that time, but I could help them more by working on the machine in its current state.

Does my question make sense?

I have never been able to get remote access through firewalls without setting up reverse tunneling manually at the command lines, It worked but it was such a pain I don't want to push it onto complete newbies so I hope I can do this with TV

Thanks for any help
