Ubuntu LAN connection problem
« on: August 20, 2015, 10:15:29 AM »
Hello.
When I connect with TeamViewer to my Ubuntu 14.04 computer (server) from my Android tablet (client) via the internet, I have no problem. But when I configure the server to accept only LAN connections and try to connect using its local IP as ID, I get an error: "Connection error". That's even when the TeamViewer application in the server shows a green circle and the label "Only LAN connections are possible".
Thank you.

Is the wifi router that the android tablet is connecting to making a VLAN or subnet that doesn't allow wired LAN connections?

My subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, so I don't think so.

I'm not sure that the subnet mask has anything to do with that.

Most modern wifi routers will offer Isolation of the wifi connection, normally turned on by default in the wireless settings
